Transform Worker - Above Bar Church

Are you passionate about Jesus and considering how you can use your gifting to serve him? Are you a servant-hearted, creative, and flexible team player who is able to work alongside others? Would you like to combine training within a large city-centre evangelical church with Formation School?

Transform seeks to lay foundations for a radical Christian life by giving you a breadth of experience both in the church and the secular work place.

This is a one year volunteer post, starting in September 2018. The role compromises of approximately 12-14 hours serving the church, 6-8 hours being trained and equipped (through Formation School), and 20 hours' workplace experience per week.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • A love for God, a passion for his glory and a longing to know and love him more.
  • A heart for the lost and a willingness to serve Jesus at Above Bar Church.
  • A willingness to learn and an eagerness to take on a wide variety of responsibilities throughout the church.
  • A desire to work well as part of a team with other staff and members of the church family.

Ministry Trainee (Student - STEP)

Deadline for applications is 5th December 2017.

Are you passionate about student ministry? Do you have experience working with Students and are eager to develop your skills? Are you a servant-hearted, creative, and flexible team player who is able to work alongside others? Would you like to combine training within a large city-centre evangelical church with studying for a post-graduate degree?
If so, we would love to support you in loving God, following Jesus, and sharing hope within the context of student ministry.

Above Bar Church is looking for a Students' Ministry Trainee to support the ongoing development of the student ministry. The ideal start date would be January 2018 but starting no later than September 2018. This is a two or three-year position, which comprises of approx. 21 hrs/wk serving within the student ministry, 14 hrs/wk for studying (typically) an MA and leadership training opportunities.

Bursaries, hosting, and funding to cover fees are available if needed and will be discussed with the successful applicant.

Ministry Trainee  (Youth - STEP)

Deadline for applications is 31st Jan 2018.

Are you passionate about youth ministry? Are you experienced in working with young people and eager to develop your skills? Are you a servant-hearted, creative, and flexible team player who is able to work alongside others in leading youth ministry? Would you like to combine training within a large city-centre evangelical church with studying for a post-graduate degree in a choice of 6 ministry areas including apologetics, leadership or youth, children and families ministry?

If so, our STEP programme is for you.

Above Bar Church is looking for a Youth Ministry STEP Worker to start in September 2018. STEP stands for Serve, Train, Equip and Prepare. This is a two or three-year position, which comprises of approx. 21-28 hrs/wk serving in the church and 7 hrs/wk studying (typically) on a post-graduate programme at Moorlands College.
Bursaries, hosting, and funding to cover fees are available if needed and will be discussed with the successful applicant.

Ministry Trainee (Children - STEP)

Deadline for applications is 28th Feb 2018. 

Are you passionate about children’s ministry? Are you experienced in working with children and eager to develop your skills? Are you a servant-hearted, creative, and flexible team player who is able to work alongside others? Can you be a leader and show initiative? Would you like to combine training within a large city-centre evangelical church with studying, probably for a post-graduate degree?

If so, we would love to support you in loving God, following Jesus, and sharing hope within the context of children’s ministry.
Above Bar Church is looking for a Children’s Ministry Trainee to start in September 2018. This is a two or three-year position, which comprises of approx. 21 hrs/wk serving in the church and 14 hrs/wk studying (typically) an MA.

Bursaries, hosting, and funding to cover fees are available if needed and will be discussed with the successful applicant.
