Welcome to the Film Group Missional Community!
This group is for men, young and old, who share an interest in films and culture.
What makes this work is that the Film Group Missional Community is about relationship - with each other and our relationship with God which we openly share. It’s a safe environment for people to talk openly, ask questions and not to feel judged. We want to explore the relevance of movie themes to our lives - we particularly enjoy action films!
Although we enjoy watching films together, what’s more important is the time we spend together prior to the film, having a drink, eating together, and chatting about the movie, work, life, our relationships, the Universe and our walk with God. If you are new to the Above Bar Church or other churches in Southampton, this group is a good way of meeting people and finding out more about what we do as a church in the heart of Southampton. Film nights are usually on a Wednesday evening - ‘Orange’ tickets where we can.
Some members of the film group enjoying a Bond Themed Evening.
Where: Usually Cineworld at Ocean Village
When: Cinema night is usually on a Wednesday but not every week - it really depends what’s on
Film Discussions are on Sunday mornings or Sunday evenings during the services as and when advertised. These are usually open to ALL, subject to age restriction of the film.
