We believe that being an active part of the pockets of community in which we do life together is really important.
Many of our Life, Home and Small Groups across Southampton and southern Hampshire are missional communities within themselves; having a missional focus in their neighbourhood is a natural rhythm for them.
As we move forward over the next five years we are encouraging the growth in natural partnerships of our community groups in their local neighbourhoods across the city. There are currently three neighbourhood communities, in Cobden Bridge/Bitterne Park, Chandlers Ford and in Rownhams where the local Groups work in partnership exploring and building links in the neighbourhood, working with local churches, developing social and/or educational activities, working with and supporting local charities and businesses; intentionally finding ways to be at the heart of and contributing to the benefit of the neighbourhood.
We believe that in this way we will be exploring the rhythm of sharing Jesus … being those gateways for the people in our neighbourhoods to see the difference Jesus makes in our daily living, sharing the difference, and it’s attractiveness with them. Our community groups, are trying to be, spiritual families on mission in their neighbourhoods, helping to embed our church wide involvement as missional community, Sharing Hope across the city.
