Football cluster
Football is an international language, and many people from different cultures and backgrounds enjoy kicking a ball about. We do too.
The Above Bar Church Football team has two weekly meetings, on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Thursdays
Come along to meet others who enjoy playing the beautiful game for a kick-about. We’re keen to welcome newcomers, so we make the atmosphere fun and relaxed.
Join us on Thursdays, 8.30pm–9.30pm, at Fleming Park, Passfield Ave, Eastleigh.
Saturdays
Our Saturday team plays in the Solent Churches' League. It’s a competitive league, but we think it’s pretty fun! To find out how we’re doing, visit the Solent Churches' League website.
Contact Chris through the church office to find out how you can get involved. All lads who love football can join us. We hope that girlfriends, wives (wags!) and kids will also feel part of our community too!
A team game
We are supporters of the work of Hope Now, a charity who work with disadvantaged children and have various other ministries in Ukraine. In fact, our annual visit to Ukriane has also given us a positive opportunity to use our love of football and of Jesus to help kids who don’t have the opportunities many in this country get.
We also plan various social events around our activities, things like pub quizzes and various informal get-togethers. There is a great mix of people involved in Above Bar Church football. All love football; some are single, some married, some in work, some not, some are Christians, some aren’t.
Our emphasis is more on enjoyment rather than being the best. You’re very welcome to join us!
