Drop in every Tuesday for our weekly toddler and parents group. Everyone is welcome, whether or not they attend Above Bar Church or any other church.

Poppin happens every Tuesday during term-time in two sessions:

• Morning: 10am–11.30am
• Afternoon: 1.30pm–3pm

Fun for your child

There are games and toys for the toddlers, and coffee and a chance to catch up and share news for the parents, who come from all over the city. A team of adult helpers from Above Bar Church makes Poppin a safe and positive environment for children to play in, and provides support for parents and carers.

As well as lots of toys to play with, there is always an activity for the children, ranging from painting or playdoh to making musical instruments, firework pictures or sand play, depending on the time of year. There’s a break for refuelling, and the session finishes with singing. Every other week there is a craft activity for the adults. We celebrate Christmas, Easter and Harvest at Poppin.

Encouraging for you

Many parents find mutual emotional, practical and spiritual support at Poppin. It is a great place to get to know other parents.

For parents who aren’t Christians, there’s the opportunity to participate in a daytime Christianity Explored course (with crèche) as well as in marriage preparation courses organised through the church.

Poppin Church

A whole afternoon of fun, craft activities, time to chat with friends and meet new people, plus singing and hearing a Bible story together. There’s a hot meal for the children before they go home.

Poppin Church happens on a Saturday, 4pm–5.30pm, about every two months: check the calendar to see when it’s happening next.

Poppin Plus

Our morning parent and toddler service on a Thursday morning, 10am–11.30am, once a month. Bible stories, singing and activities, with refreshments before and after. There’s also time to chat and play (parents and children respectively, mostly). Check the calendar to find out the date of the next Poppin Plus.
