Blessed to be a blessing

Serve

Serve tech Serve tech

We all want to find somewhere to belong. But what if the best way to belong is to serve? What if you could create a positive experience of church for others by serving them?

We look in the Bible and see that Jesus urges his followers not to think of themselves before others. He calls on his followers to be people who serve others, putting their interests first. That’s because even Jesus himself came to serve, giving up everything for us when he died on the cross (Mark 10:42–44).

A community that serves

There are so many ways to serve Above Bar Church, and getting involved in a group is a great way to make new friends and feel welcomed into the family.

To find out what goes on, have a read of the engage section of this website. You’ll find groups for different networks of people, in different neighbourhoods and those which try to address different needs in our city. Maybe have a look and see where you might belong and serve. We’re really keen that church isn’t just something we do on a Sunday; it’s a family where we belong.

And at Sunday services lots of people experience church for the first time; how could you make an impact on their first impression? Find out more about being part of the First Impressions team.

A community that values gifts

The New Testament expects that people will have lots of different gifts and it’s very clear that a healthy church needs everyone to contribute. (Read 1 Corinthians 12 if you’re interested in finding out more.)

If you’re interested in finding out what your gifts might be, we regularly run the Network course. Just contact the church office to say you’re interested, or chat to one of the church leadership team.
