Hire a room
Above Bar Church might just be the ideal place to host your next conference. We have meeting rooms to hire with catering facilities, located right in the centre of Southampton.
The church building is just 10 minutes' walk from Southampton Central train station and close to most city-centre car parks. You can find us on Southampton’s main shopping street, which makes us a popular choice for room hire with local businesses, city council groups and other large conferences.
Conference hire
Our Auditorium seats 500 and is often used to host large meetings like panel discussions or presentations. It has a wide stage, moveable seating on the level and a balcony with further seating. It is fully equipped with large-screen projection equipment and a digital PA system (with hearing loop).
For a large conference, you could also hire the meeting rooms below to use for seminars or smaller workshops.
Meeting rooms
We have flexible meeting rooms for small groups or seminars, each equipped with a flip chart, electric sockets and with access to facilities for making tea and coffee.
The Lounge is ideal for groups of 50 or 60 people in a seminar or other small meeting. It has a kitchen with a serving hatch and equipment for making tea, coffee and cold drinks.
We can provide a PA system and a projection screen. The room has lots of natural light, with windows looking out onto trees and Above Bar Street.

The Basement can seat 30 or 40 people, and has its own kitchen with café-style seating. It also makes for a great space without chairs, perhaps for a drama group reahearsal. There is easy access from our Ogle Road door and the room has its own toilet facilities.
We can provide a PA system and a projection screen, and equipment for making tea, coffee and cold drinks.

The Top hall is large room with natural light and a view across the city centre. It can seat around 100 people for a presentation or around 60 people at tables.
There is a modern catering kitchen with serving hatch and equipment for making tea, coffee and cold drinks. The room is fitted with projection equipment and a PA system.
The Classroom is on the top floor of our building and is ideal for a round-table meeting of around 15 people. The room can be divided into three, perhaps for small-group workshops.
We will provide adult-sized chairs and tables, and can provide a PA system, a projection screen and equipment for making tea, coffee and cold drinks.

It’s possible for you to visit and view the rooms before you book. Ask about that when you contact us.
We do reserve the right not to take bookings if we consider that the aims and objectives of an organisation conflict with our own. But this happens very rarely.
