Our church building is situated in the heart of Southampton city centre.
Travelling to Above Bar Church
The best way to get to Southampton by road is to take the M27 to Junction 3, and then the M271, following signs to the City Centre.
Air
Southampton is served by its Airport, on the outskirts of the city in Eastleigh.
Train
Southampton Central Station is approximately 10 minutes' walk from the church building.
If you need transport to the church from the station, there is a free City-Link bus from Central Station to The Marlands, a shopping centre close to the church. This bus leaves from the platform 4 side of the station, and you will need to disembark at the first stop, just after the top of the hill. Alternatively, taxis are available from just outside the station.
Bus
Buses to the city centre stop just a short distance from the church, either on Above Bar Street or on Portland Terrace, outside the West Quay shopping centre. From the University of Southampton, UniLink connects to the city centre, stopping at the Civic Centre buildings. For maps and times, check the bus companies' websites:
National Express and Greyhound both have services to central Southampton from around the country.

Council-run parking information is updated regularly. We suggest checking this information when planning your journey.
All multi-storey car parks charge for parking regardless of the time of day however, some on-street parking is free until 12pm on Sundays. If you are unfamiliar with parking in Southampton, it is best to check the signs for details of restrictions. If you phone the church office, we’re happy to give advice.
