Vacancy – General Manager

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with sound leadership, business management and administrative skills to join the staff team at Above Bar Church.

This full-time role is full of variety alongside being demanding and challenging and is key in facilitating church life that enables its ministries to be effective and run smoothly. The post holder will be working as part of the senior leadership team ensuring organisational health and effectiveness.

The Church

Above Bar is a city-wide evangelical church community seeking to bring a whole life gospel ethos across the generations within the church family, across the city and beyond.

Our church family is diverse and covers a wide range of ages and over 30 nationalities. We have a strong commitment to team ministry both in our leadership structure and in our staffing. We enjoy good relationships with other local churches.

Vacancy – Admin Support

The Role

We are looking for someone who wishes to use their administrative gifts within a church setting, and has a heart for making a difference through supporting/serving others, to join our staff team.

The full-time role will be very varied, and at times demanding and challenging. The successful candidate will have a friendly, gracious and professional demeanor - striving for excellence in every task and interaction - demonstrating a flexible ‘can do’ approach and a servant heart.

Vacancy – Driver

Our Big Difference team are looking for a driver(s) who are able to do ‘pick ups’ during the week, mainly afternoons/early evenings. If you are seeking a few hours paid work then please get in touch There is also opportunities for volunteers to strengthen the team working from Woolston premises.

Volunteers – Big Breakfast

Over past few months Big Breakfast has been serving from outside the building. In the New Year as the weather gets colder we would like to be able to bring this inside again. In order to do that we need more volunteers to commit to helping on a Thursday morning from 10:00 – 12noon.

Lifeskills Coach

We are keen to appoint additional volunteer CAP Lifeskills coaches to expand our team at Above Bar church.

CAP Lifeskills are designed to help members gain confidence and decision making skills to survive life on a low income, as well as offering them the opportunity to hear the Gospel. Full training is provided by CAP and this will be delivered online with the option to visit Bradford at a later time in the year.

The course runs for 8 weeks several times a year and there is an emphasis on building community with the members, teaching the practical skills from the course and offering one to one coaching for those who would like this. The coach needs to have a heart to care for people and a sense of humour is always welcome! The post will be subject to DBS check.

The course is currently delivered by Sue Ward and David Argles.
