This Easter we will be having an appeal focusing on the Persecuted Church; all the money raised will go to Open Doors.
Open Doors exists “to strengthen the church to be the church in the most hostile places”. The great work they are doing started in the 1950s when Open Doors’s founder, Brother Andrew, dared to obey God and risked everything to smuggle Bibles into the Soviet Union. You read can read his incredible story of faith and miracles in his book, God’s Smuggler.
Today, Open Doors is the world’s largest global secret network – keeping the church alive in some of the most dangerous places on earth. Wherever Christians are tortured, harassed, punished or murdered for their faith, Open Doors are campaigning, praying, providing practical support and smuggling hope.
If you’d like to find out more information about the Persecuted Church take a look at The World Watch List; which is Open Doors’s annual ranking of the 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. We’ll be praying together for the persecuted church on the 8th April, but let’s be setting aside time to pray for our brothers and sisters across the world, and especially those who are suffering for the gospel.
You can give online via our website, or by placing money into the appeal envelopes and bringing them to the church building. Go to the Easter Appeal 2019 page to find out more.
100% of the money donated will go to Open Doors, it is possible to Gift aid your donation, if you can please do.
Thank you so much for supporting the persecuted church in prayer and with financial gifts, it will have a significant impact for believers in some of the harshest environments.
“Despite all my suffering I love God with my whole heart. I am so grateful for Him.”
