Refresh - phase 2 ground entrance

I’m so pleased with the outcome of the first two phases of Refresh! I hope you also have enjoyed the use of the lounge and the significantly improved feel of the front entrance and stairwell.

Now these phases are complete, we will soon start work on the next phase, which includes the Top Hall, 2nd Floor Crèche and 3rd Floor Classroom.

Refresh - phase 2 lounge

This much-needed work will make a significant impact on the weekly groups and activities, and particularly improve the space for children’s ministry on a Sunday. We’ll replace the ceilings and floors and will redecorate, as well as making upgrades to the adjoining toilets.

At the same time we are also keen to undertake works to replace the whole boiler house. We hope to permanently resolve many of the issues that we all experienced last winter when the boilers were out of service. The existing boilers have been in place since the building was rebuilt in 1981 and we think that after 37 years it’s time for a full removal and replacement. We hope the new boilers will serve for a similar time, enabling another three decades of fruitful ministry from our City site.

The trustees have committed to covering the improvement works to the three classrooms from our existing reserves. However, we are not in a position to complete the boiler works from reserves as well, so are asking if you might be able to prayerfully consider giving towards the heating project.

We’re looking to raise £100k to be able to complete these works and will hold a Gift Day on Sunday 7th July 2019. Head to the Refresh page for more info on how to give »

We are going to tender for the classroom works in the next few weeks and hope to complete those works over the summer. Our desire is to complete the boiler project before the next winter season.
