Poppin is our weekly group for parents and carers with their babies and toddlers. Everyone is welcome, whether or not they attend Above Bar Church or any other church.
Poppin in the Park
These will be a half hour, socially distanced, singing and story session for parents/carers with their babies & pre-schoolers. Please bring a picnic mat or something to sit on, a shaker and a scarf!
These sessions will be fortnightly on Tuesday mornings during the summer term - and there are two locations and two sessions at each for you to choose from. You will have to register separately for each week you wish to attend - signing up one week does not guarantee you a place a fortnight later, and you must book a place in order to attend. Currently, groups are limited to just 7 households per session.
You only need to only book one ticket for your household (rather than individual tickets for you and your child). More detailed information will be sent to you after you have booked.
Dates for this term are:

Fun for your child
There are games and toys for babies and toddlers, and coffee and a chance to catch up and share news for the parents, who come from all over the city. A team of adult helpers from Above Bar Church makes Poppin a safe and positive environment for children to play in, and provides support for parents and carers.
As well as lots of toys to play with, there is always an activity for the children, ranging from painting or playdoh to making musical instruments, firework pictures or sand play, depending on the time of year. We provide a snack for the children and the session finishes with singing. We celebrate Christmas, Easter and Harvest at Poppin and on the last session of every half term there will be a chance to come and hear a bible story read before singing time and our craft for that week will be linked to our story.
Encouraging for you
Many parents find mutual emotional, practical and spiritual support at Poppin. It is a great place to get to know other parents. We also run parenting courses from time to time so we can all learn together.
