Real Lives 2018

Real Lives is an opportunity to hear real stories from people who have been changed by Jesus.

This October, Real Lives returns to Above Bar Church! From 7th to 11th October we’ll hear four special guests speaking about their lives. Each evening will feature an interview with a different guest, followed by a short talk explaining the Christian faith.

This years guests are...

Billy McCurrie Narrow

After the death of his father at the hands of the I.R.A, Billy McCurrie wanted to seek revenge. This led him down a destructive path, and Billy became involved in a paramilitary organisation. On 7th October at 6.30pm, come along to hear about the journey that has led him to where he is now, and what ultimately helped him to deal with the loss of his father.

Caroline Cox Narrow

Baroness Caroline Cox is a member of the House of Lords, and was once a Baroness-in-Waiting to the Queen. Her career has spanned a range of disciplines, including involvement in several universities around the United Kingdom. As well as her work in education, Baroness Cox has used her position to help “be a voice for the voiceless.” On 9th October at 7.30pm, she’ll be talking to us about her work with aid charities worldwide, and the impact that faith has made on her life.

Sanjay Mall Narrow

Dr Sanjay Mall is a scientist with a doctorate in chemical engineering. Until a few years ago, if you had told him he would become a Christian, he would have thought you had lost the plot. He never expected to find himself in a church building. On 10th October at 7.30pm, hear how Jesus changed his life – and enriched his science.

Tracy Trinita Narrow

Issues about who we are face all of us in modern society. Tracy Trinita became Indoneisa’s first supermodel, and it seemed like she had achieved the dream. But the fame, success and glamour proved hollow. On 11th October at 7.30pm, hear Tracy share her incredible story.
